Literature lecturer Adeline Wren arrives at Ashwood University to repay her father's debts, only to clash with Weston Thorne—the dean's troublemaking son. He falls for her; she resists, then yields. Their forbidden teacher-student love uncovers a two-generation secret: Weston's mother was the mistress who caused Adeline's father's death. After separation and reunion, three years later Weston proposes with a ring hidden in Jane Eyre.
